Blog post #5
Over the course of the summer, I have learned many useful things through this summer class. I am incredibly grateful for the numerous things I've learned this summer. I am grateful for learning many new things about myself through waybook and its many personality questionnaire. I learned what my strengths and weaknesses were, what things motivated me, and I got to publish my goals. I also thought all the information I learned about how important it was to have and to maintain a budget was very important. It made me realize how important a budget is in managing your money. My internship taught me to work hard even on seemingly simple tasks because these tasks add up to contribute to the organization running efficiently. This was especially true when I was tasked with updating a community partners spreadsheet. It was a very easy task, but CFI relies on it to streamline their marketing process. I learned some very interesting things about myself. I learned that I handle social situations well. I also value judgement very highly.
Finance lesson on interest
1. If you put $500 into a regular savings account in the bank when you are 18 years old, and add $50 each month, how much will you have when you are 68 years old (50 years later)? $39,500.23
2. If you put $500 into a regular savings account in the bank when you are 30 years old, and add $50 each month, how much will you have when you are 68 years old (38 years later)? $28,301.40
3. If you put $500 into a regular savings account in the bank when you are 40 years old, and add $50 each month, how much will you have when you are 68 years old (28 years later)? $19,938.10
4. If you put $5000 into a regular savings account in the bank when you are 30 years old, and add $500 each month, how much will you have when you are 68 years old (50 years later)?$395,002.25
5. If you put $5000 into a regular savings account in the bank when you are 40 years old, and add $500 each month, how much will you have when you are 68 years old (28 years later)?$199,381.03
This makes me want to get a savings account and put a lot of money in it.

This makes me think…that the sooner one starts to invest in a savings account, the more it will benefit in the future.
Week 2 Blog
I communicated effectively and acted with diligence at my internship. I would have to communicate with not only my workers, but the visitors who come by everyday. I also asked a couple of questions to my supervisor before attempting to complete and assignment. It proves to my supervisor that I am greatly dedicated to the assignment.

Blog #5 - Completed in preparation for our LAST WEEK!
I am grateful for the opportunity of doing my internship at Brewer Phillips. A cool experience this summer that I am grateful for is having the opportunity to experience what it is like being a Cosmetologist. I saw how a stylist really needs to connect with their client, so they understand what their client wants and I learn some skills you need to really love this career. Also, it did really help me realize if I do want to be a stylist. One good thing I learned in class is I learned how to use more my GMail. Also, I learned about the Work Readiness Skills, that I didn't even know existed! Now, that I learned what the Work Readiness Skills are that is one thing that's makes me different this summer because from now on I am going to try to put these skills in practice at any job. Although, It was a little hard for me to keep on with the tasks, I am glad I made it through!

I learned that I can accomplish what I want
-
We used Waybook to learn about my Strengths, Values, Personality, Biology, and Passion. I think Way book was not that incorrect on some things it said and I actually got to learn more a little more about me.

Blog #3 - Completed as homework in preparation for Week 4
Think about what you want to be doing after high school:
- Option 3: If you don’t know if you want to go to college or not, write about what you think you might want to be doing in your future and where you might want to live. Write also about the experiences you want to have to help you decide what you want to do. Do you need to live in other countries? Do you need to do some service? Do you need to interview people?
- I'm not sure yet if I want to go to college because first of all it's very expensive, but then another part of me does really want to go. I would want to go to college because I would be the first to graduate in my family. Also, my little 8 year old brother really looks up to me and I know that if he sees that I graduated from college, he will too, want to graduate from college. Furthermore, I also have a few job experiences and I don't want to work myself off when I can be get paid better without killing myself. I don't need to live in other countries, but If I wanted to I can. No, I don't need to interview people,

Blog Prompt:
Describe AN EXAMPLE of how you used the Work Readiness Skills in your internship in a positive way, or in a way that supported success. Describe the situation and what you learned. Describe an example of how your Work Readiness Skill weakness/area of growth held you back, or caused you to have to work harder.
Example of using one of the Work Readiness Skills in a positive way that supported my success: being Honest is one of the Work Readinees Skills and I think it helped me in a positive way because I told my teacher that I had missed a class and if that I had missed any work. This helped my success because by being honest my teacher told me what I was missing and I was able to complete what I had missed.
What I learned from my example: I learned that if your honest in life and not a lire everything everyhting works out in a positive way and people have a good image of you.
Example of a Work Readiness Skill Weakness that held me back this week. Explain what needs to change or what you need to do differently. The Work Readiness Skill I need to work on is being Dedicated. I try to stay on task but I still don't finish all my work on time. That really needs to change because if I don't finish on time in class, then I have more homework to do after school. Or I might not get the credit for it, because it might be do at the end of class and I don't have it completed.
