Week 3 Entry

After high school I plan on attending a college. As of right now, I would like to be a business major. Business majors can have many jobs. These jobs include accountants, operations research analysts, and market research analysts.

Market Research Analyst:
1.Average Pay: $60,300
2. Analysts in the bay area  make much more then other locations.
3. To become a market research analyst, you need at least a bachelor's degree. Having a specialty in math, statistics, computer science, and business administration are all helpful.
4. You need to be very driven and organized to be an analyst. You need to be deadline driven. The workload is pretty big, so you need to be able to deal with stress pretty well.

Operations Research Analyst:
1. Average Pay: $72,100
2. Analysts living in New York City make almost $60,000 more than the average. San Diego, Salinas, and Santa Rosa California are also very well paying cities for operations research analysts.
3. Need a bachelor's degree in math, business, or industrial engineering. Employers favor those with a master's degree.
4. You need to be able to work inside and outside an office environment. You need to be able to work under pressure in order to meet deadlines. You need strong communication as well as good analytical and mathematical skills.

Accountant:
1. Average Pay: $63,550
2. Accountants in New york, Ocean City, and Newark make more then other locations.
3. Need to at least have a bachelor's degree in accounting. You could also become a certified accountant.
4. Should expect long hours during tax season. Need to be able to work in a deadline oriented job. Computer skills are also vital. You also need to be able to travel often.
